Ruidoso
A mountain resort town named for the meandering Rio Ruidoso (“Noisy River”) that runs through the city, Ruidoso is Lincoln County’s largest community. It's home to the Ruidoso Downs Race Track, in season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and to Ski Apache, owned by the Mescalero Apache Tribe. The tribe also operates the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino. Ruidoso has a busy calendar of art and cultural offerings, including events at the Spencer Theater, a world-class performing arts venue hosting touring Broadways shows, dance and musical performances and more.
